Packing for hot weather

I'm going travelling this weekend, so I'm picturing things on my mind that I need to pack for my trip. First of all I will need a handbag that is roomy and comfortable to bring. I prefer neutral colours like white or nude cause they will match most of the outfit easily. Should I go for the shoulder hobo or the one with a longer strap so I can use it as a slingback as well?
